Situated on Cowbridge High Street, The Quarter Penny Cafe (formerly Farthings) is a friendly, cosy eating and meeting place.
Our aim is to provide quality, unfussy, home-made food and beverages, all served in a welcoming environment where you can escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and just relax. We open every weekday from 8.30 am with last orders at 5 pm (09.00am - 4.00pm on Sundays). Our menu offers something for everyone, from all-day breakfasts to light bites and sandwiches and of course, a choice of hearty main courses, including daily specials.

A wedding with us means a wonderful private day with superb food and fabulous service. With the capacity for a total of 150 guests the venue can be totally yours for your special day.

We offer a bespoke event catering service, tailored to your specific requirements.
Whether it’s an intimate dinner party for close friends in your home or a wonderful, unforgettable wedding breakfast for 200 guests in a marquee in your garden, we will accommodate your every need.

We also offer free wireless internet access to all our customers.
The dessert counter is always fully stocked with Claire's delicious cakes (which are not available anywhere else!) - all packed full of cream and calories, not to be missed. All of Claire's cakes and desserts can also be ordered whole to take away to enjoy at home (or at the office!). Traditional Afternoon Cream Teas featuring Claire's home-made Scones and Carrot cake are served Monday to Saturday from 3pm - 5pm.
Sundays at the Quarter Penny are getting busier by the week due to our fantastic Beef and Lamb supplied by Pwll-y-Wrach Farm in Colwinston. Vegetarians are well catered for with our Nut Roast served with veggie gravy. We believe our Sunday Roasts cannot be beaten for flavour or value for money. Main courses are only £8.95 and you can have two courses for £12.95. Our full everyday menu is also available on Sunday for those fancying something lighter.
